PRESCRIPTION of the 6thInternational Music Competition of Anniversary Dates “PRIZNANIYE”

 

1. General information

Music art is a special aesthetic, artistic and spiritual value, which develops creativity of the artists and listeners.

The music competition “Priznaniye” gives an opportunity to keep and support cultural traditions between people of different countries, it teaches understanding and love for domestic art, world art and spiritual culture, it identifies talented performers, bands, teachers and improves performing skills, it also attracts the attention of leading cultural figures, state institutions and educational institutions to gifted performers.
The competition is held on the initiative of the Music Society of the Rostov Region with the organizational support of the Ministry of Culture of the Rostov Region, the Rostov College of Arts.

The competition, which is held in the year of anniversaries of great Russian and foreign composers, is a sign of recognition and respect, honor and devotion to representatives of the world musical culture.

The competition will take place from December 7 to December 21, 2020. The competitive auditions are held online.

It is advisable to include one large-scale work (sonata, a part of sonata, rondo, variations) into the competition program. Instructional studies (études)cannot be included into the program.

 

“Piano duet”: a quatre mains duet or a duet on 2 grand pianos.

“Instrumental ensemble”: violin ensemble, cellist ensemble, mixed string ensemble, wind ensemble, percussion ensemble, academic folk instrument ensemble, mixed ensemble of original composition. Ensembles can perform with or without piano accompaniment.

The competition program must include the performance of one aria by any composer and any style. The competition program should consist of an Aria, a romance, and a folk song (or an aria and 2 romances).

 

“Academic vocal ensemble”

Age group A 12-15 y.o. inclusive (till 7 min.)
Age group B 16-19 y.o. inclusive (till 8 min.)
Age group C 20-25 y.o. inclusive (till 15 min.)
Age group D NO AGE LIMIT (till 15 min.)

The competition program consists of 2 works (free choice), it is mandatory to include a work of the composer, whose anniversary is celebrated.

 

“OKF-compulsory piano”, the category is open to instrumentalists, vocalists who are studying the course of “Piano as an additional instrument”, who participate in the competition as soloists, and for a second time in this category.
The program includes: 2 works of any kind, one of which is a work of the composer, whose anniversary is celebrated.

The age groups correspond to the age groups of the solo category.
The application should specify:
“OKF1” -for pupils and students of the theoretical and conducting-choral departments;
“OKF2”- for pupil sand for students of string, wind, folk, and vocal departments.

 

“Accompaniment”: this category is open to concertmasters who participate in the competition program with any instrumentalist or vocalist. Pupils and students of piano departments who master the course “Concertmaster class” with an illustrator can also take part in this category.
Age group — no age limit.

 

3. The rules of the competition 

 

The competition is held annually, each year the contestants ' program includes works by those composers whose anniversaries are celebrated this year. Thus, the organizers of the competition emphasize the universal importance of artists of high culture, the brightest music creators, for the purpose of music propaganda and educational activities. The performance of works by outstanding composers and recognizing their contribution to the world culture is the main task of the competition.

Students of children's music schools and art schools, students of secondary and higher educational institutions, teachers, amateur creative groups and cultural and leisure institutions’ performers, artists of concert organizations from cities and districts of the Rostov region, the South of Russia, other Russian regions, and foreign countries can take part in the competition.

The participants must include 2 works in the competition program: a performance of one of the compositions of the above-mentioned composers is mandatory.
The next composition may be of any kind that most clearly reveals the creative work of the performer.

Two compositions are performed within the time frame of each age group and category. Pop and jazz compositions (pop transcriptions) are not included into the competition program.

 

4. Panel of judges.

 

 

The panel of judges includes leading cultural figures, famous musicians, teachers, professors, directors of educational institutions with a work experience in the competition commissions. The competition jury listens to the programs of participants and score the contestants' performances according to the following criteria:

- compliance of the executed program with competitive requirements;
- performing level;
- musical sense, expressiveness, scenic culture;
- the originality of the interpretation of the work.

The results of the participants’ performances are recorded in the protocol of the jury meeting, which is signed by all members of the jury. The protocol is a main document for awarding participants of the competition with diplomas of laureates of I, II, III degrees and the title of diploma holder. The decision of the jury members is not subject to discussion.

Teachers who have prepared contestants are awarded with certificates.

The diplomas of laureates and winners of the competition, the certificates to teachers will be sent by mail within a month after the end of the competition.

To conduct the competition, there will be an electronic booklet, which will contain the competition programs of all participants, creative biographies of composers of the anniversaries for educational purposes.

 

5. Responsibility.

 

By submitting an application for participation in the competition, participants automatically accept all the terms of this provision. The organizing staff is not responsible for any violation of the existing laws related to the publication of video materials.

 

6. Conditions of participation in the competition.

The application, video, and the payment receipt are sent strictly in one e-mail.

The entry fee for participation in the competition is paid on the day of submission of the application and video material to the bank account of the Music Society of the Rostov Region, marked: competition "Priznaniye" Surname of the Competitor.
From December 7, 2020 to December 21, 2020, the jury members will be watching videos and listening to the competition performances. The results of the competition auditions will be recorded in the Protocol of meeting of the jury members and will be publicly available in the competition’s website. The diplomas and certificates, according to the decision of the jury, will be sent to the participants of the competition by mail within a month after the end of the competition.

Entry fee for participation in the competition:

- soloists of any category — 1500 rubles.
- concertmasters participating in the competition — 1000 rubles.
- ensemble of 2 people(duet) - 1000 rubles per participant
- ensemble from 3 to 6 people - 800 rubles per participant
- ensemble of 7 or more people - 5000 rubles.
- OKF(compulsory piano)category— 1000 rubles.

In case you refuse to participate in the competition, the entry fee will not be refunded.
